5 months and 2 days since the accident: Hi everyone! My has it been a journey! Winter is here in Colorado and I couldnt be happier. Feel like I can finally close the book on the long summer John and I had :-) Good news I am now 12 days out with ZERO pain meds and only an anti anxiety maybe once or twice a week to help with sleep! The pain meds were keeping me down I felt like, not to mention my emotions were a constant roller coaster. I do feel like my body aged nearly ten years since the accident but slowly I think Ill get back to normal. My leg and back are both healed great but my arm which healed the fastest is giving me the most trouble. I wake up to what feels like a glove thats 5xs too small and it takes a few hours of me moving it and stretching to feel better... now that the temps have dropped it also starts to give me some trouble late in the evening. But overall now its just time for the discoloration to start fading (hopefully) and the scar tissue in my arm to break up. Just wanted to say thank you so much for everyones continued thoughts and prayers, its a daily struggle mentally to deal with but with the physical complications fading Im hoping my mind will get back as well. The bills and scars are a daily reminder of where I have been but hopefully its all smooth sailing from here. * found this video on my phone today, didnt realize it but John Hanson video taped.my first steps after surgery...pretty doped up but so glad Im here to look back and laugh at myself. Ill post updated photos this week :-)
