After much research on Ayurvedic resorts, we chose Dalmanuta Gardens as it offered a full Ayurvedic experience as well as offering a more relaxed approach that suited my husband. We had just completed a wonderful 10 day tour around Sri Lanka and after leaving the frenetic pace of Colombo we arrived at Dalmanuta to be greeted by warm, friendly and very attentive staff. Dalmanuta is run by Mr Chamal, he has selected wonderful staff who he obviously has great respect for and who are proud to work for him. Such a happy environment he has created, it is such a joy to be welcomed into his resort. We were shown to our beautiful villa, set in our own private garden, what a perfect start to our 5 days of absolute bliss. Our room was perfect, beautifully set out with a very comfortable bed, lovely linen and a gorgeous towel sculpture. This was a treat each day to see what our lovely Naleer created for us. Our days were so relaxed, yoga in the morning with the very gentle Priyantha, such a lovely start to the day. Meals were created by the Masterchef Athula, each day we would discuss what we would like for dinner and he would head to the market during the day and then produce the most delicious fresh and healthy food. Such a luxury to have our personal chef. Our meals were served by the beautiful smiling faces of Suresh and Amila. Each meal was served in our own private gazebo set on the river, with lovely river breeze, the lapping of water, this was a truly delightful experience. As for the Ayurvedic program, we were cared for by the beautiful Doctor Milka who shared her extensive knowledge of Ayurvedic Medicine and organised our treatments. We enjoyed lovely body, head and feet massages. As we stayed for only 5 nights we didnt partake of the full Ayurvedic detox, but that certainly was an option if you were booked in for a longer period. This resort is very small, it has 9 rooms. We loved our time there so much as we were so well looked after, we felt that we were part of the Dalmanuta family. Personal attention, beautiful smiles, lovely garden to wander around, the absolute perfect escape. We were very sad to say good bye to our wonderful new friends!
