5 tips to help you prepare for IIT JEE 2014 in one year If you are appearing for IIT JEE 2014, ideally you should have started preparing while you were in the eleventh standard. However, if you haven’t started studying seriously, I suggest you start right away. Like all other IIT Joint Entrance Examinations, this won’t be easy. It is a tough nut to crack and requires you to be mentally prepared for it. If you are just starting, here are some tips that could help you in your final year of preparation: 1. Set a timetable: Since you don’t have much time, you must set a timetable for yourself and stick to it. Follow a pattern and give enough time to all subjects. If you are weak in a particular subject, give more time to that. However, don’t neglect any subject. 2. Pay attention in class: Pay attention in your classes. It will ease the tension. Clarify doubts with your teachers. Don’t keep them pending because the syllabus is huge and your problems will deepen as the months go by. Stay calm. Attend your classes and ask for clarifications, if you need any. 3. Keep solving previous years test papers: Solve previous years’ question papers to get a hang of the type of questions that come and to better your solving skills. Go a step further a keep a time constraint. Finish it off in a given period of time. This will enhance your problem solving ability and give you enough practice before IIT JEE 2014. 4. Have necessary study materials in hand: Needless to say, you must have the required study materials with you. This includes textbooks of Physics, Maths and Chemistry. If there are any additional books, you can refer to that as well, provided you manage your time well. 5. Stick to the syllabus: Given that you have just one year in hand, try and stick to the syllabus. Sometimes we do get carried away and delve into topics that may not be a part of the syllabus.
