5 ways Spokane really isnt that bad. Thinking about it today. I came up with these. 1. Cost of living: How many times has someone out of town been amazed at the fact you pay a fraction of the rent and parking that they do? You mean to tell me You can pay your bills and still have money to do other things? 2: Getting away from it all: You basically cant walk more than a mile in any direction without running into a park. Also, driving 20 minutes in any direction will bring you to a lake, countryside or trailhead of some sort. 3: Where everybody knows your name: Spokane restaurants and bars are all basically like the sitcom Cheers. You will more than likely run into a friendly face, in person, and get a hug. Always more welcome than a Facebook like. 4. It forces you to be creative: Granted culture is something at times to be desired, its hard to find heated/naked/Bosnian/low-impact Yoga. When you do feel like doing something different, isnt it exciting to find that gem with some digging. And when the big things come to town you cant tell me you dont appreciate it more. 5: City Pride: Dare I say it? Think about it. Spokane is like a weird relative. You can make fun of it. But if an outsider tries, you are having none of it! Also, have you realized when a person is visiting it isnt that difficult to prove the town isnt that bad. We really do have diversity and quality here. Although difficult, small businesses still exist here as well. Life is what you make of it no matter where you are. Now please excuse me. I am meeting someone for a No. 8 at Ming Wah. But before that I need to stop by Boo Radleys and grab a friend a gift and try to make it out of there with out buying the whole store. Does anybody know what the featured cupcakes are at Celebrations today? Okay, well Ill see you all at the Park Inn later tonight!
