5 weeks ago this doggie arrived into my care. I was somewhat humbled when the pound contacted me about him - saying that with all his different health issues, they only wanted him to come to PFT. It makes me feel very proud of what Ive achieved for PFT & the reputation we have for the dogs. Smiggle arrived. We most certainly did NOT bond at first. In fact - he & I had some very stern words. I showed him how I wanted him to behave & what was not acceptable at Chateau PFT. Howling for attention is a big no-no. A dog cannot stay at my house if they are going to disrupt our lifestyle & those of our neighbours. But Smiggle is such a smart boy. Within 48 hours the most perfect little doggie emerged. I have not looked backwards. He & I share a cool kind of relationship. He waddles around, following me everywhere. He smiles & lights up a room. He has such a happy nature. His happiest times is going for a gentle stroll - on his wobbly back legs. He loves running around in the park, rolling in the grass & tilting his face to the sun. And tomorrow our journey together ends. He will travel by a big aeroplane to Melbourne where his new Mummy is excitedly, eagerly, tentatively, happily, joyously awaiting his arrival. And so I must say my goodbyes, wipe away a tear, tell him hes a good boy, that I love him but he needs his own new home. And then Ill find another dog to rescue, love, nurture, fix-up & rehome all over again. My thanks to all the people who have contributed in some way to Smiggles journey. We did good.
