5 years ago Emily Ramirez-Hawkins and I started the process to become licensed to adopt in Jefferson county, Colorado. We received a call a little over 4 years ago that they had a sibling group for us. They told us their story, and told us that we were the last chance for Devon before they put him in a institution because he was violent. We said yes that we would take them, it was one of the greatest decisions that we have ever made. DJ and John Jr have been a blessing for us, Djs actions were because he was being abused by the foster mom, and he was protecting his little brother. Today both boys are exceeding any expectations that we were told, they are excelling in sports in the Special Olympics county, they are doing incredible in school. Today we are celebrating what we call the gottacha day. We have been so blessed to be able to raise to incredible little boys.
