5 years ago today I made the bold decision to step on stage for the first time to attempt what I always dreamed of doing, stand-up comedy. On April 2, 2009 at Cozzys Comedy Clubs legendary open mic I took my first breath into what would be a new life for me. I asked the host at the time Jay Gates if I could use the F-word. He told me hell no I have to earn it. The light, how to build a set, how to MC, I am thankful to have learned it all from the house Lorain Cosgrave built which just so happens to be the longest running comedy club ever in the state of Virginia. I am greatly indebted to all of the veteran comics who taught me so much about the business and my biggest influences along the way Averell Carter, Dan Ellison, Bo Lastnayme Dacious, Beatty Barnes, F Alex Scott, Rob Reibold Quincy Carr and Mike Easmeil thank you for allowing me to continue to learn from you all. I am also grateful to Harry Satchel for allowing me to teach, perform and produce at the Virginia Beach Funny Bone, one of the best A clubs in all of the country with an incredible staff and amazing stage to perform on. Its also been great to grow up in the business with such friends & peers as Jim Seward, Sid Bridge, Derek Williams, David Carter, David C. Wingfield, Ray Bullock, James Rodatus, Corey Marshall, Joy Julian and even that pretentious asshole CB Wilkins! Big special shout out to all of my close friends & family who have been there since my open mic days Cory Chapman, Bobby & Debbie Loulies, Kim Loulies Curling, Josh Barker, Joshua Villegas, Mike Gordon and of course my Mom & Step Dad. Special thanks to Robert Pedreira and R.I.P. to my very best superfan I ever had, and will ever have, Cassie Terrill, I miss you and thank you for the incredible support and belief in my career. If I left out any names please forgive me but THANK YOU ALL!!!
