5 years seems like a lifetime. Ill always love my Aunt Geri... Geraldine Eloise Cason Perry was born on July 15, 1934 in Long Branch, New Jersey. She was first born child of the late Sara Ashby Cason and Clifton R. Cason. She was member of Second Baptist Church in Asbury Park, having been baptized by her maternal grandfather, Rev. John H. Ashby, at the age of 11. She served in many capacities through the years. She attended public schools in Neptune and graduated from Neptune Senior High School in 1952. After highschool, she attended Monmouth Business College. Upon completion of her course work, she moved to New York and began her career working for Citibank. She retired after 30 years of service. Her commitment to service was evidenced by her spirit of volunteerism. She faithfully served in the C.H.A.N.T. food pantry until her illness prevented her from doing so. She was also a member of the Tuesday morning Senior Citizens Bowling League. She loved her team (Cougars) and they loved her. She was also a member of a Pokeno Club, which was another social outlet. Bearing the mark of ill health, she closed her eyes in death at 10:00am on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Neptune Rehabilitation Center in Neptune, NJ. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John H. Perry, her sister Gloria Cason Baker, and her brother Clarence R. Cason. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Linda Cason Driver and her husband John Driver, her aunt Alice Ashby, her nephews Darren Baker and wife Luvaina, Dwayne Baker and wife Toni, Derek Cason, John (Jay) Driver and wife Myra, and Jaron Driver; nieces Darlene Gabele, Delecia Barber and husband Kenneth, Debrina Jackson and husband Rodger, Deidre Allen and husband Mike, Danielle Cason, Janeen Weedon and husband Albert; 4 great nieces and 9 great nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
