50% of our creative staff started as interns. WE WANT YOU! Around the Horn Summer Internship Posting Around the Horn is looking for a production intern this Summer. We work in a small, fun, fast-paced office in Washington DC and are seeking creative(!), motivated(!), students to contribute to the show. Duties will include everything from story idea generation to video production. Also, bonus points for Zubaz models and/or aficionados. Candidates must have an interest in sports, television, and a strong familiarity with the show. The internship is not limited to Journalism or Broadcast majors. We are more interested in applicants who are full of fresh ideas, are fast learners, and can demonstrate creativity. We are going to republish that last sentence to illustrate the importance of it. Applications should include a resume and short writing sample answering BOTH of the following with a paragraph or two. 1) If you were Adam Silver, what 1 change to the NBA would you prioritize the most and why? 2) If Derek Jeters retirement tour passed through your home town, what gift would you give him? In the writing, we are looking for grammar and substance, but must see CREATIVITY, style, and humor. Please attach any files as Word documents and/or paste the text into the email. Interns must be able to commit to at least two days a week from 9am until 3:30pm in our DC office. The internship will run from early June until August. During the Spring and Fall, we try to choose students from the DC-area, so for the summer, we would like to bring in students from outside the region.
