500 Year Old Japanese Cedar There are five big Japanese cedars at Ryuenji temple in Wada district, Tohyamago. These cedars are 500 years old and still growing like young trees. Skin of the tree is quite like a pile of plates. Temple think these trees are sacred, so you can see white papers which are used for purification. Some tourists come here and embrace trees for feeling something great. Why not try! Photo : Hidehiko Mizuno
