500000 Wheelbarrows: A case of Psychological Entrapment and Enslavement. The recent decision of the Kaduna state governor, oga Ramalan Yero to import five thousand wheel barrows further buttresses and vindicates my argument on the cluelessnes of the PDP led kleptocracy to effectively define a conventional line of thinking that will fundamentally ameliorate the predicaments of the people and relatively improve their economic comfort. Indeed, the policy, in my opinion, constitutes a negation of the needs of the people and prioritization of frivolities, the essence of which is to perpetually entrape and enslave the economic psychic of the beneficiaries; and holistically control their conscience to suit the political interest of PDP. To further illuminate this argument, let us ask these questions: who benefits from this policy? How can the policy change the economic status and welcome the beneficiaries to the threshold of economic plenitude? If really the target of the policy are gullible almajiri kids on the street whose unfortunate souls are engulfed with economic servitude, shouldnt they, like their kano state counterparts, be offered the opportunity to be in school and be educated in order to shake off the shackle of illiteracy? No doubt, the rational of the policy isnt synthetic to the plight of the people, but a total manifestation of insensitivity which is repugnant to common sense. What benefits can wheelbarrow bring to a state whose list of priorities does not have wheelbarrows at the bottom? Discernibly, the logic of this policy places primacy on two fundamental issues: 1. Control their(beneficiaries) minds by offering an incentive that will mortgage their future, pattern of behavior and way of perceiving reality; and subsequently make them answerable to their lord, the giver of wheelbarrows; and at the same time, serve as stooges to the lord of wheelbarrows and help in perpetrating any unholy practice that will serve the interest of the lord of wheelbarrow if the need arises. 2. Deny them the opportunity of going to school. The essence is to deny them the weapon that will equip them with the revolutionary ideas and tendencies to challenge the existing socio-economic and political relations. That is, to perpetually subjugate and suppress them by allowing them to linger in stark illiteracy. A status quo that will ensure their inability to question and challenge certain obnoxious political, religious and economic practices inherent in their system . The subliminal gesture is so obvious. The PDP government in Kaduna state lacks the ability to carry the people to el dorado. Only a gullible mind will deny this policy as unholy. Unless this clueless lord of wheelbarrow begins to, as a matter of urgency, implement good economic policies that have positive impacts in the lives of the people, then PDP , in a free, fair and credible contest, has lost 2015
