51-year-old held on suspicion of murder following the death of a man found injured in Merseyside house A man was arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man on Merseyside. Paramedics were called to a house on Martock, Whiston, at 2.40pm on Sunday after reports an injured man had been found inside. The victim, who is believed to be in his 50′s, was found with cuts to his neck and arms. Paramedics started treatment immediately and police were called. He was transfered to an ambulance to go to hospital for further treatment but unfortunately died on route. A 51-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. The scene was cordoned off for examination and house-to-house enquiries are underway in the area. The victim is yet to be formally identified and police said they are still trying to contact his next of kin. A Home Office post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.
