OTHER POST POST 34/66 : ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE STANDARDS Branch: Road Transport Chief Directorate: Road Engineering Standards Directorate: Road transport research, Policy, Standards and Guidelines Sub Directorate: Road Infrastructure Standards SALARY : All inclusive salary package of R252 144 per annum CENTRE : Pretoria REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of a National Diploma in Civil Engineering / suitable technical qualifications. At least three (3) years’ experience. Must be able to register with ECSA. The following key competencies and attributed are essential: Procurement experience. Research. Knowledge of Project Management. Compilation of management and technical reports and proposals. PFMA, MMFA, Treasury Regulations and GIAMA. Estimating, Budgeting, Financial Management and Economics. Processes and procedure for development of Policies and Technical Standards. National Road Traffic Act and its Regulations governing Road Traffic. Verbal & written communication-English- above average. Computer Literacy – above average. Good general knowledge of Transport Sector and Road Infrastructure related matters. Knowledge of existing Road Infrastructure Standard: The incumbent will be responsible to: Assess, review, develop and maintain road infrastructure standards and regulations. Facilitate the implementation of road infrastructure standards and guidelines. Develop and maintaining road infrastructure standards management system. Interact with stakeholder management on research on state-of art materials for the sector. Represent the Department at meetings, steering committees, workshops and conferences on issues related to the development of road infrastructure standards guidelines and regulations. Facilitate and coordinate the harmonisation of road infrastructure standards in SADC. Provide technical assistance and administrative office support service to the Branch regarding personnel, tenders acquisition, compilation of submission and memorandum.
