52 villages hit by #floods in #Dhemaji, #Nagaon #assamtribuneonline: #GUWAHATI, July 5 – In all, 14,301 persons in 52 villages under four revenue circles of the two districts of Dhemaji and Nagaon were affected by flood during the past 24 hours, said the daily flood report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) here this evening. Meanwhile, the Brahmaputra is flowing above danger level at Neamatighat with a steady trend, while its tributaries – Desang, Jia Bharali and Beki – are flowing above danger level maintaining a rising trend, respectively at Nanglamura in Sivasagar district, NT Road Crossing in Sonitpur district and Road Bridge point in Barpeta district, said the evening flood bulletin of the Central Water Commission (CWC) here today. The CWC bulletin also maintained that the Burhidihing, the Subansiri and the Manas – the other tributaries of the Brahmaputra – are also maintaining a rising trend. The ASDMA report said that the cumulative figure concerning the affected people during this flood season is 27,376 in the districts of Dhemaji, Golaghat, Karimganj, Jorhat, Lakhimpur and Tinsukia. The crop area damaged by the floodwaters during the past 24 hours, the report said, is 1,519 hectares, against the cumulative figure of 2,449.83 hectares in this regard. Four relief camps have been set up to provide shelter to 426 flood-hit people in Dhemaji district during the past 24 hours, the report added.
