#53/7 Dec: Yesterdays Weather Reflective of Our Performance Recap yesterdays weather throughout our match: moments of clear sky but otherwise most of the time, gloomy downpour. That was also reflective of our performance against Real Friend FC, a team of young Myanmarese. Despite the largely awful weather, that wasnt to mean that our performance was similarly awful. In fact, considering that we only had exactly 11, including a teenager in Alex, we battled with a lion-hearted spirit that was missing in the national Lions. The eventual 2-5 scoreline was not reflective of our true selves. Our warriors deserved a pat on the shoulders for taking the match to them. Despite their dominant possession, we drew first blood through Teck Chyes sheer winning mentality to take them on and earn himself a penalty after he was hauled down in the box. Teck Chye picked himself up for the ensuing spot kick and made no mistake with it. RF went on to equalise to end the half on parity and put themselves in a commanding 4-1 lead mid way through the 2nd half. The imposed departure of Teck Chye forced us to recruit another teenager on the spot to make up 11 on the field and boy, what a gem he was. He played without fear and pressurised RFs defense to make a mistake and coolly slotted home another goal for us. We conceded another late goal to end the match 2-5 but seriously, everyone played his heart out for the battling 11.
