56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 I was saddened by learning of the death of so many friends and acquaintenances, relatives, parents of friends and others this past week. Death is a certainty, one clearly provided for by God and described in great detail in the Word. The assurance of Gods welcome is rich; the loss of a friends is still a stinging event. Gods word prepares us for this and upon it we should rely in all matters, and this is no exception. Jesus Christ did indeed come that we should be free from the laws and assured that our sins have, through His loving, giving sacrifice, been fully atoned and washed clean. Each day I pray that this unequivocal gift be made clearer to me that I may share it more sincerely and grasp it more firmly. Through Christ, the believers are called to Him at their earthly death. Oh, what a Savior. Make me Your servant, Lord, to do as You teach me. Let my words of You spread far and near, reaching all You would have hear, that Your kingdom may grow and Your love spread as You direct. Oh, how I love Jesus...Where, oh death, is your sting? Amen
