58 minutes ago So a few things have happened lately. First of all Kane had another Esophagram today. It looks about the same as last week. Jeremy and I are waiting to hear what Dr. Pearls thoughts are. Based on the results we both really want Dr. Pearl to remove the stent. It is creating a dead end for trapped saliva and its been in for 3 weeks so its probably safe to say the esophagus is healed enough to pull it out. Hopefully Dr. Pearl has the same thoughts as us. There is a chance they will send Kane home with a leak. If the JP Chest tube drain is catching 100% of the leaking saliva he might come home with the drain. We really dont know what the plan is yet. I dont think there is even a plan yet but we will keep the updates coming as we get them. They increased his feeding to 105mls per hour the other day and later that evening Jeremy noticed formula in his NG tube. Kane has never had continues feeds that high and apparently his belly couldnt handle it. It made its way through his nissen, up his esophagus and out the NG Tube. Jeremy shut the machine off and called the nurse. They reduced his feeds back down and there hasnt been any more problems so far. Kane was surprised by Three fully dressed fire fighters earlier today. He Loved it!!!! They brought him a surprise fire fighting goodie bag and posed for pictures. It was awesome. Thank you Mary Eckhouse for such a wonderful surprise!
