5th Annual SPL/IML Tournament opens volleyball season The 2014 volleyball season opened up on Thursday afternoon at Monte Vista High School as the Pirates hosted the 5th Annual IML SPL Preseason Tournament. Centauris Jordan Dunn (3) rifles a ball between Sangre de Cristos Abbey Stagner (4) and Heather Dieckman (6), despite the kill the Thunderbirds defeated the Falcons in four sets, 25-26, 23-25, 25-12 and 26-24. Monte Vistas Jessica Brown (8) high fives her teammates after a kill. Despite falling behind early in the first set, the Pirates were able to gather themselves and sweep the Center Vikings in three sets, 26-24, 25-15 and 25-20.
