5th Grade Earns 2nd Place at Math is Cool Masters, Division II by Amy Yu, Math Team Coach and Eton Parent. Eton Schools 5th grade math teams participated in Math is Cool Regional in March. They won 3rd place and were invited to the Masters. On May 17, 2014, the state championship took place in Moses Lake, WA. Our 5th graders: Tiffany Z, Kai N, Ayush B and Karthik S showed great improvement and earned 2nd place in the team competition. In addition to the team award, Karthik won 7th place, and Tiffany won 10th place in the individual contest. Kai and Ayush wowed the audience with their speed and accuracy during the College Bowl competition. Not only did our students work their best on math, they also represented our school well with great sportsmanship. Congrats and Bravo to their success! Thank yous go out to Ms.Davidson for all her help in and out of the classroom, Syne (Eton parent) who helped me run the practices and to all the parents for their support for our math club! Its a team effort!
