5th of October 1999. Monday Haroola Yesterday I went to Kozani after looking it up on the map. It did not seem very far from Ardea. But in actuality, the bus service in Greece is a nightmare. Please if ever in Greece try not to rely on the bus service. We kept stopping along the way to unload passengers and finally we changed busses at a small town just before reaching Kozani. The journey seemed to take forever. I spent too much money because the journey without seeing the museum was not really worth it. Anyhow, I am on holiday and spending money as most of you all know when your on holiday is a necessity. Each morning I get up pretty-early and go for a stroll. I walk into the town of Exaplatanos. These days I am staying with my Uncle Mito. He has a bar on the outskirts of this town and his residence is behind the bar. I visit a café where a nice looking blond girl (Haroola) serves coffee hot! She knows my name. It is refreshingly wonderful to finally go to a place where my name is at least known. I lost my jumper yesterday on that ‘turtle’ bus. The weather is becoming progressively colder. It was a good jumper, a piece of clothing which really looked good and which I will invariably need. I am disappointed. Some of my relatives on the island of Alonissos did not want me to leave. Even so often, they keep phoning to ask if I would like to return. To tell you honestly, I would like to. Although I have this female cousin there who is a complete nightmare. I have this sinking feeling that if I do return something bad might happen.
