No more sea—nothing to separate us. 2. No more tears—nothing to sadden us. 3. No more death—nothing to take our lives. 4. No more mourning—nothing grieves us. 5. No more crying—nothing to take our breath away. 6. No more pain—nothing to hurt us. Twelve Things Missing from the New Heaven and New Earth: “Heaven will be life as God intended it to be!” 7. No More __THIRST__—because God will graciously quench all desires. Revelation 21:6, NIV84 - 6 He said [NOTICE: God now breaks His silence] to me: [Kept in context: Rev. 21:5, NIV - 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”] “It is done [This comes from the same “lemma” (root word) that Jesus used on the cross when He said, “It is finished!”]. I am the Alpha [Gk: A—the first letter in the Koniá Greek language] and the Omega [Gk: Ὦ--the last letter in the Koniá Greek language], the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. [cf., Jn. 7:37-38] 8. No More _WICKEDNESS_—because all evil will be banished. Revelation 21:27, NIV - 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. 9. No More _TEMPLE_—because the Father and the Son are it’s temple. Revelation 21:22, NIV - 22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 10. No More _NIGHT_—because God’s glory will give eternal light. Revelation 21:23–25, NIV - 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 11. No More _CLOSED GATES__—because God’s door will always be open. Revelation 21:25, NIV - 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 12. No More _CURSE__—because Christ’s blood has forever lifted that curse. Revelation 22:3, NIV - 3 No longer will there be any curse [rf., The Curse in the Garden of Eden because of sin]. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. These 12 statements are “Purifying Promises” 1 John 3:2–3, NIV - 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. Here is the Point ----> Knowing about the eternal blessings promised to those who trust in Jesus Christ as Lord is meant to give us hope, joy, a sense of urgency, but also to have a purifying effect in our present lives.
