6:10PM LOCAL TIME HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLOODING UPDATE FOR SOUTH EAST QUEENSLAND, BRISBANE REGION & GOLD COAST Rain continues to stream in around a low that is situated over the Wide Bay and Burnett district with moisture pouring in from the warm waters dumping very heavy rainfall across south east Queensland at the moment from Brisbane southwards is copping the brunt of it with big totals accumulating since 9am. Some places saw 100mm+ to 9am this morning and a number of places already has seen 100mm+ since 9am across the area this afternoon. Flooding is a concern on many roads as this rain continues to fall as well as low lying areas and creeks and smaller river systems Here are just some of the extreme falls since 9am this morning This is on top of the 100mm+ already this morning with some places now seeing 200 to 300mm since last night which is an incredible amount of rainfall. SINCE 9AM Beerburrum 120mm Gold Coast Seaway 112mm Coolangatta 125mm Archerfield 84mm Calamvale 86mm Eight Miles Plains 81mm Mt Gravatt 83mm Burleigh waters 160mm NEW SOUTH WALES Couchy Creek 85mm Banora 93mm Barneys Point 65mm Rain heavy at times with isolated thunderstorms will ease across the Brisbane area and Gold coast areas by tomorrow morning and break into a few showers but looks to be a very wet night for Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Some areas may see another 100mm+ between now and dawn especially about the Gold Coast. - There is a SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for HEAVY RAINFALL for people in the Wide Bay and Burnett, Southeast Coast and parts of the Capricornia Forecast Districts. - Also there is a FLOOD WATCH FOR SOUTH EAST QUEENSLAND BETWEEN HERVEY BAY AND THE NSW BORDER.
