( 6.5 ) DEGREES STRONG EARTHQUAKE SHOOK RICHTER A COLOMBIA * ( Tuesday August 13, 2013 ) Red Alert * A magnitude 6.5 quake struck on Tuesday the Pacific coast of Colombia, without registering a tsunami alert, according to the National Geological Service of Colombia. Under this service, the epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean, 99 kilometers from the town of Nuquí chocoana at a shallow depth (less than 30 kilometers). The motion was felt in the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca, the Coffee and Antioquia. The quake occurred at 10:43 local time. Meanwhile, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the movement had a magnitude of 6.7 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was located west would Mutis, Solano Bay, 4.4 miles deep. So far there are no reported damage or injuries, but the authorities are doing a sweep in the areas closest to know if there were negative effects*
