6:58 this morning my phone rings. It wakes from the little sleep Ive gotten since 4 this morning. Of course I slept very little the night before. I answer. I hear the sweetest voice this side of heaven. Its Matt! He asked what I was doing today and said he would like to come have coffee with me before he has to go to work at 8. He asked if that was ok! Yes! Come on son! He sounded so good! I jumped up, made a pot of coffee and just as the coffee pot dinged to let me know the coffee was ready (about 5 minutes) in walks my baby boy. I tried to be as calm and casual as possible in order not to upset him, and we had a good 30 minute visit. We didnt talk about his breakdown. We just talked.... It was like it used to be! The cuts on his arms were fully exposed and I couldnt help myself! I had to glance when I thought he wasnt watching me as I sipped my coffee. But I never said a word about it. Ive been here many times and I know these moments with a drug addict come and go, one day is good for them and the next... Maybe not so good. But I sure do enjoy the good days! I know that God is working on Matt. I know he will walk thru fire on his way to his deliverance and it tears my heart to pieces. However, I know this one good day would never have happened so soon after his breakdown if it were not for your prayers! Thank you all! You have stood in the gap for my son and have kept him covered in prayer around the clock! I am so humbled by the love and concern for someone you do not know! Our little town is so unforgiving when comes to people like my son, an addict....a law breaker. Thats all they see. But you, you see a beautiful soul created by God and in need of His Love. Because of His Love... You love him. THANK YOU FOR LOVING MY SON! Please continue to pray for Matt and his family. Thank you each prayer that youve already prayed for him....and for me! May God bless and keep you all! I am posting pictures of Matt and his 2 year old Khloe and his 6 month old Lylah. I dont have a picture of his wife Kelsey but I want you all to see who you have been praying for.
