6 CFR 37.3 - Definitions. (REAL ID CARD). INS of the U.S. Department of Justice. Lawful status:... or an alien: lawfully admitted for permanent or temporary residence in the US; with conditional permanent resident status in the US; who has an approved application for asylum in the US or has entered into the US in refugee status; who has a valid nonimmigrant status in the US; who has a pending application for asylum in the US; who has a pending or approved application for temporary protected status (TPS) in the US; who has approved deferred action status; or who has a pending application for lawful permanent residence (LPR) or conditional permanent resident status.*** SAVE means the DHS Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements system,*** or such successor or alternate verification system at the Secretarys discretion. Temporary lawful status: A person in temporary lawful status is a person who: has a valid nonimmigrant status in the US; has a pending application for asylum in the US; has a pending or approved application for temporary protected status (TPS) in the US; has approved deferred action status; or has a pending application for LPR or conditional permanent resident status. 6 CFR 37.11 - Application and documents the applicant must provide. (iv) Valid, unexpired Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551) issued by DHS or INS. (vi) Unexpired foreign passport with a valid, unexpired U.S. visa affixed accompanied by the approved I-94 form documenting the applicants most recent admittance into the United States. ( NOTE: Part of REAL ID and REAL ID Drivers License US Codes.) (NOTE: Only part of REAL ID Cards defs. Also note the reference to the DHS SAVE ( Entitlements System). Free housing, education, medical care, food, money... Plus once they have an ID Card, they can VOTE. DHS and many Cities and 16 States have been issuing them. Congress wrote, approved, and the president signed the Public Laws for the US Code changes to allow this.)
