6 Jan 2015 If my late Tok Mak, Akmah Abdullah, was alive, she would be 79 today.. If shes still alive, she would hv known that she were to hv 5 additional grandchildren, n 4 great grandchildren.. The classiest, most sophisticated woman that Ive ever known.. the Grace Kelly of our family.. she not only a woman ahead of her time, she is timeless.. gentle, yet very strict.. not an ice breaker, but once u get her to talk, she can tell u all sorts of stories.. a great cook n an absolute genius tailor+crafter.. shes a woman of the world, cultured, with impeccable tastes.. When she passed, relatives would often say that m closest to her physically n creatively.. during the last 2 years of her life, she would say that to me personally, n quite often too.. n biler disamakan ngan Tok Mak, is like winning a personal Nobel prize.. best compliment in the world, ever! I would drive her crazy, to the point that she would ask my mom to take me home haha.. but that doesnt stop me for kacau-ing her.. I adore watching her, especially when shes sewing.. the house would smell of roses n lavenders, but her sewing room la yg plg wangi.. while shes sewing, I would play with her ribbons n be amazed by her library of beads.. The privilege of being her eldest grandchild is that I hv more time with her, so more memories, which makes me miss her even more today 😭
