6 KEYS YOU CAN USE TO DEAL WITH YOUR WEAKNESSES AND BECOME STRONG 1) Honestly and humbly admit to yourself (accept the fact) that: “I am weak or ignorant in this particular area”. That is part of the meaning of “Be sober (rightly assess yourself in humility) and be vigilant…” (1 Peter 5:8). You can never find solutions to problems that you refuse to admit. In the same way, you can never improve, develop or make meaningful or productive use of virtues and gifts or talents and opportunities that you refuse to acknowledge or recognize. 2) “The Spirit of God helps us in our weaknesses” (Romans 8:26). That is one of the functions of God’s Spirit freely given to all Believers in Christ as special divine privilege. So, surrender fully to God’s Spirit through prayer, repentance, confession, meditation, and obedience to God’s word, in order for you to be constantly filled with (empowered and controlled by) the Holy Spirit. You “walk in the Spirit” by “walking in the scriptures” along with constant sincere fervent prayers. 3) Renew your strength by waiting upon the Lord. “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength (exchange their weakness for God’s strength, as they bask in God’s Presence)” (Isaiah 40:31). Make time to take hold of God, His power, His grace, and His promises alone (by yourself) and also with your courtship or marriage partner, business or professional associate, colleague in ministry, members of your group or leadership etc. 4) Speak words of encouragement and strength into your life. Break through your weakness by Bible-backed or Bible-based confessions and pronouncements of faith that will energize your will-power to perform to the best of your abilities. Bless yourself with words that invoke and infuse strength into your mind, heart and spirit. “Let the weak say ‘I am strong’” (Joel 3:10). 5) Live a life of obedience. Your obedience to the Lord and to important laws and regulations of society, will always be your first line of defense against attacks that aim at exploiting your weaknesses, and targeting the weakening or breaking down of your strength. 6) Relate very well to people. Our strengths and weaknesses are mostly exhibited in our relationships with people, especially in romantic and very intimate relationships (close friendships, business and professional partnerships, colleagues at work or in school, political associates, church and ministerial associations, dating, courtship, marriage, interactions with relatives, family affairs, in-law relations etc.). Being honest, transparent, caring, helpful, kind, understanding, considerate, taking time to listen, sensitive to people’s feelings and needs, respecting other opinions, loving, forgiving, patient, and persevering etc., will always energize and strengthen us, and transform many weaknesses into unbelievable strengths for success.
