6 MONTHS Today marked 6 months since Hope received her perfect new heart. She has come A LONG way in 6 short months. She has so much more energy than she has ever had and is almost able to keep up with her brothers. These are the posts from July 26th when a family gave Hope the ultimate gift and their lives and ours were forever changed: Just talked to Dr. Stewart and Dr. Boyle. Transplant is complete and the new heart is beating. Everything was going really well until they closed her chest. Her numbers started dropping and they worried she might need ECMO. They decided to open her chest back up. The heart and her body were and are happier. She will have her chest open until at least Monday. The heart she received was a bit bigger than her old one so they believe that giving her body time to get rid of some of the swelling will help. It is going to be a few hours before we can see her so we are trying to figure out someplace to get some sleep. I will post more later today. Please continue to pray for Hopes recovery. She has a very long road still and we could use all the prayers. More prayers please. We are heading back to the Clinic. They cannot regulate her blood pressure and she may need to be put on ECMO. Things are not looking good right now. She arrested and they have been doing manual compressions for an hour. Please pray they can find and fix the spot(s) that are bleeding. They just took her back to the OR to see if they can find and fix it. Please God keep Hope safe and bring her back to us. I read those words today and find it so hard to believe our little spunky girl went through so much. I have seen miracles firsthand and God has definitely provided for our family.
