6) Musical / Rhythmic Intelligence This area to do with rhythm, music, and hearing, Those who have a high level of musical rhythmic intelligence, display greater sensitivity to sounds, rhythms, tones, and music. They normally have good pitch and are able to sing, play musical instruments, and compose music. Since, there is a strong aural component to this intelligence; those who are strongest in it may learn best via lecture. In addition, they will often use songs or rhythms to learn and memorize information, and may work best with music. characterstics: 1. Ability to perceive pitch, tone, and rhythmic pattern. 2. Well developed auditory sense and discrimination. 3. Remembers songs easily. 4. Ability to sing or play instruments. 5. Sensitive and drawn to sounds. 6. Constantly humming, tapping, and singing. Remedial Actions: 1. Play musical games. 2. Go to concerts or musicals. 3. Develop a collection of favorite musical recordings and listen to them regularly. 4. Take formal music lessons in a specific instrument. Use rhymes and songs to express feelings. 5. Encourage listening to music with strong and distinct rhythmic beats and work with music therapist. 6. Spend one hour a week listening to an unfamiliar style of music (jazz, country, western, classical, folk, international, or other genres). 7.
