6 more officers over this country have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the past week. Some knowingly engaging the bad guys and others were ambushed. There is a target on the back of these men and women today ever more than before. Sadly, you see nothing but bashing of the very small percentage of officers that are on the wrong side of the law, make bad choices or are caught in the wrong decision at the wrong time. The good guys do not support the bad ones but have compassion for those that meant to do right and bad things happened. It still amazes me the amount of energy and hate that is put into using these few examples to optimize an entire culture good men and women. I find it interesting that those that raise the most noise and attention to this, that incite the most angst of the public and the nation are the same ones that claim to be fighting for the rights of others claiming that it is hate to optimize an entire culture of people with a few bad apples. I stay away from the media because it usually disgusts me and it pains me to hear people on my on Facebook feed speaking things that I just cant comprehend the stability of their own mind or heart, especially after 9/11 week. I cant help but think that the pen (or social media) is mightier than actions to these people because not only do they not have the guts and ability to swear an oath to a flag and defend it, put a badge on and wear it with compassion, fortitude and courage.They have no idea what it is like to walk a life believing in something greater than their own selfish world. To all those men, women and the families of those that understand what it is like to live a life of running into danger instead of away from it, sleepless nights of a spouse wiping away tears of angst fearing whatever unknown their loved might be experiencing, those sitting by a bedside of a family member or brother that is fighting for their life from a night of service that ended with a bullet in the throat, to those that live a life of love supporting these men and women, I thank you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for living a life that only you truly know and understand.
