675 North 5th and 615 North 5th are close by one another, and joined not only by property line but also by family ties. 675 North 5th (Federal Revival style) was designed by Rice University architect William W. Watkin for William and Nena Weiss Priddle in 1920. Today, it is cut up into assorted small apartments for rent. 615 North 5th (1911) was the home of Harry and Olga Keith Weiss. Harry and Nena Weiss Priddle were siblings. Harry Weiss later helped found the Humble Oil and Refining Co., and they moved to Houston. The green, hip-roofed house with strong horizontal lines is reminiscent of the Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie Bungalow style. These two homes are just about 7 blocks west of the Holmes Duke place on Forrest.
