69 years ago today, during the early hours, the biggest ever amphibious assault ever launched was under way. A combined force of 156,000 troops, 5,000 ships and 11,000 aircraft from America, Britain, Canada, Norway, Poland, and France invaded the Nazi occupied area of Normandy, France. By the end of the day, more than 10,000 allied soldiers lost their lives. Please remember those men that gave their lives on this anniversay of D-Day.
