7/10 - When I got out of the Army in 1995, I worked overnight grocery at a national supermarket chain. My job was to stock shelves, face (straighten and organize) shelves, crush and bind empty cardboard boxes, move pallets, and a few other things. I only worked there for about 3 months before moving on to a construction-type job. Making sure the labels face the front, and organizing cereal boxes and baby food jars at 2 am, only to have them in total disorder by 2:15 am was not the most fulfilling type of work. :) Many jobs are like this. They NEED to be done, but they do not always seem to be appreciated. The only time these jobs usually are noticed is when they are NOT done. Consider dirty dishes piled in the sink and on the counters, having no clean clothes for school or work, walking through inches of dirt or trash all over the floor, etc... Even in sharing the Gospel, Christ followers may find themselves pulling rocks out of the field, plowing the field, planting seed, watering the crops - while the ones who harvest the field get to see the final product. Jesus said that everyone who was involved in the process WILL rejoice in the harvest (salvation of someone who was lost). John 4:37-38: Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. 38 I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
