According the the internet research website, the Dutch national was named on Saturday with Maxwell Konadu as his assistant. However, the authenticity of the posting on Wikipedia could not be verified as the Ghana Football Association has not officially named as replacement for Kwesi Appiah. The position became vacant after Coach Kwesi Appiah was sacked two weeks ago, and reports indicate that high profile coaches including Kliuvert applied for the job. But the posting on Wikipedia cannot be fully trusted as several previous postings have turned out to hoax messages. The big name applicants include Bernd Shuster, former Chelsea boss Avram Grant and Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert. This posting on Wikipedia claimed Kluivert has been appointed Grant, who had been linked to the technical director post of the Black Stars, applied before the Friday deadline. The 59-year-old was appointed technical director at Thai Premier League club BEC Tero Sasana five years ago. Kluivert was assistant coach to Louis Van Gaal at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals and was among the 28 coaches who applied. He had a successful playing career for the Dutch national team and for club sides Ajax Amsterdam, Barcelona and Newcastle. Another big fish in the hunt for the job is former Real Madrid and Getafe coach Shuster who is a German. The trio are said to be among the shortlisted 11 after the Ghana FA sieved the applications. There are doubts over whether Kluivert has been appointed as Wikipedia is a free-access, free content Internet encyclopedia, supported and hosted by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. The Ghana Football Association(GFA) has already appointed an interim coach Maxwell Konadu before news of Kluiverts appointment popped up on Saturday. The Black Stars are without a coach after Kwesi Appiah stepped down from his position after the 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers against Uganda and Togo. A member of the three-man committee set up to appoint a new coach,Fred Pappoe said that a new coach will be announced next month. This is a completely fake report and no one should take it seriously,” Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara told GHANAsoccernet “The GFA doesnt appoint coaches via wikipedia. This website is open where anyone can go and post anything on it. This is one of the many many fake things posted on wikipedia. “Completely ignore this thing. When the GFA appoints a coach we will announce it on our website and various media channels we operate.” The posting of Kluivert as the Ghana coach was removed on Saturday night with another funny name put on there as the Ghana coach which shows how spurious the claim is.
