7:47 PM ADT Wednesday 02 July 2014 Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for: Grand Falls and Victoria County Updated or ended by 8:31 p.m. ADT. At 7:47 p.m. ADT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, dime to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. A cluster of severe thundersorms generally betwteen Perth Andover and Woodstock is tracking slowly eastward. These thunderstorms are capable of producing wind gusts near 90 km/hr and large hail and heavy rain. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Go indoors and move away from windows and skylights. Avoid areas of the building that could be affected by falling debris such as tree limbs. In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.
