7-8 DIY External IPS Monitor w/ FULL camera controls for under $200! (Canon users only) Picked up an LG G Pad Android Tablet on CL for $130 and connected it to my Mark3 using these items easily found on Amazon. You get an IPS external monitor, FULL camera controls (Aperture, Shutter, ISO, WB), functions like focus peaking, false color, zebras, time lapse, bracketing, live view video recording, and more is in development. Here are the items youll need: Android Tablet w/ 1920x1200 IPS Screen - $130-$200 (CL or Ebay) Tablet Tripod Mount - $18 (amzn.to/1yrQx8k) MicroUSB Adapter - $7 (amzn.to/1sZ0zFz) Mini Magic Arm - $11 (amzn.to/1rvjb3G) DSLR Controller App - $7 (Google Play Store, dslrcontroller/devices.php) Original Canon USB Cable - Free, came w/ your camera. Dont use just any USB cable, this causes a laggy connection. If your Canon has built in wifi, like the 6D/70D, you wont need to buy any of the cables b/c the tablet can link to your DSLR via the wifi signal and you can have full control wirelessly! This is a great alternative to the external monitors that are being sold out there. The best smallHD monitors only have a resolution of 1280x800 and cant even control your camera. These tablets have 1920x1200 IPS displays. Should be a good weekend project! Have fun guys/gals!
