7.9.14 QUICK UPDATES: The afternoon proved to be successful at the La Porte Animal Shelter. HONEY had a hold placed on her until 3 p.m. today for a potential adopter that was driving down to meet her out of Kingwood, TX. It held us up in moving forward with any other interested parties for a brief period of time. The person that was supposed to adopt her decided against it when she met her because a tumor on one of Honeys mammory glands was noticed. Fortunately, I had another potential adopter on speed dial so when the first person fell through, the second one rushed to the shelter -- adopting Honey unconditionally. Freedom pic to follow shortly. Anns long drive to La Porte paid off! She helped me out at the shelter for a bit - and left with both JoJo (the Pit Bull mix) AND Dawn, the Chiweenie. Both dogs were happily riding in the truck with her as we pulled up to my house -- Anns final stop before the long trip back home. Ann has an awesome foster family lined up and left tonight with our Freedom Pups, too. I transferred a total of $900 from our account to Anns group to cover the vetting expenses for JoJo and the pups -- your donations are hard at work! When I first arrived at the shelter, another family was there adopting one of Honey and Dawns kennelmates - a little Rat Terrier mix. Suffice it to say, there is only one of the original four dogs from that kennel left tonight. Ill be posting his photographs here shortly, too. God Bless all of you for the time you invest in networking the dogs posted here and for all of the donations you make, time and again, to get these dogs to safety. The rescue groups these dogs are transferred to couldnt do it without all of you! We value our rescue partners - and our supporters and volunteers. Team work DOES pay off! It has been another very blessed day.
