7 Delhi MLAs want to join AAP: Arvind Kejriwal The Aam Aadmi - TopicsExpress

7 Delhi MLAs want to join AAP: Arvind Kejriwal The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has claimed that seven sitting Delhi MLAs have approached the party seeking a place in its fold. Their names — four from Congress and three from BJP — have not been disclosed. In an online poll being conducted by AAP to seek opinion of its volunteers, a majority have said that the MLAs credentials should be evaluated before offering them a place in the party. But in meetings, the opposition is more vocal with some saying: “Le Mat Lena … party kha jayenge (Don’t accept them, they will destroy the party)”. Commenting on why the names of the MLAs have not been disclosed, AAP spokesperson Manish Sisodia said: “First, we are seeking opinion in-principle on whether or not to accept sitting MLAs. If the majority says no need to accept them, why declare the names at the outset? (But) once it is decided, then of course, we will go public with the names.” Of the 6,168 votes cast online till Sunday (7.30 pm) just 160 (3%) said the MLAs should be accepted while 1,093 (18%) said their proposal should be rejected outright. However, a whopping 4,915 (80%) said their credentials should be evaluated before making a decision. AAP has not yet decided when it would take a decision. hindustantimes/India-news/NewDelhi/7-Delhi-MLAs-want-to-join-AAP-Arvind-Kejriwal/Article1-1096179.aspx
