7 October 2013 – THIS IS YOUR AMERICA – “The Soft Spot” Lily AKA Miss Cutie wakes me up every morning at 4:30. It’s so uncanny that I figure she’s gotta pee and she’s hungry. And she does and is. You know, your basics. I’m pretty much feeling the same way, so I say “almost” for about ten minutes, “Ok” when it’s time, throw on the stuff laying on the floor by the bed, and walk however gingerly I gotta walk that morning so I don’t fall down the steps and break my neck. My house is almost 100 years old and the steps must have been made for the midget people back then, because half of each big foot hangs over each. Precarious indeed. I see one of those stair chair-elevators in my future for sure. But until then, I had better lose some weight, so they don’t charge me more for the Big and Tall version. You know, we all got our “gotcha” moments. Women seem to pay more for everything, from haircuts to clothes. Where they get me is with the 3x and 4x shit I gotta buy. I guess it’s the extra fabric that jacks the cost up. They really do get ya a’ comin’ and a’goin, don’t they? How about you? Where have you noticed them pattin’ you on the back to find the soft spot? Where do they stick you in the end (agin)? And, yes, it’s okay to complain: Try it, you’ll like it!
