7 October: Yeshua, Jesus and the World - Part 1 Let us leave - TopicsExpress

7 October: Yeshua, Jesus and the World - Part 1 Let us leave the issue of the world, epitomized by Babylon and its insidious ways in the Old Testament for a time and move on into the New Covenant. There is no better place to start than with the Author and Finisher of the New Covenant and King of the Kingdom. We therefore need to examine how Yeshua viewed the world and what He taught about it in relation to Kingdom citizens. We also need to see the political environment in which He lived, ministered and fulfilled His assignment. In these evil days when men and women of God are using their star power and fame to urge saints to go all out to embrace and enjoy the best this world has to offer, it makes sense to take our bearing not from the words of men but from that of the Bishop and Shepherd of our souls! And this, we will do within the ambit of the Grace He has given and unction of Ruach Ha Kadosh, Holy Spirit released in and through us as fingers pound the keyboard at Mission Central, England! Yeshua, Jesus was incarnated during the reign of the first Imperial Lord of Rome, Augustus Caesar. Rome had replaced the Greco-Macedonian Empire of Alexander the Great as the global ruler of the day. Continuing the tradition began by Babylon under King Nebuchadnezzar, Rome made possession of Israel a prized goal which it pursued with passion and achieved in a successful military campaign. In other words, the land of Israel was a vassal state of Rome by the time Yeshua, Jesus was born. For proper historical context which may help us to comprehend these matters better, let us take a flash back to the Book of Daniel Chapter 2. King Nebuchadnezzar, who had carried Israel into captivity and ravaged the Temple, was one day given a rare privilege for a Gentile. Elohim, creator of the universe decided to show him a panoramic view of history from his time until Yeshua would come from heaven to set up the physical phase of the Kingdom on earth after subduing all human kingdoms in fulfilment of Psalm 2. Troubled and confused over what he saw but forgot in Daniel 2:1-3, he was relieved when Daniel was able to recount the dream he had forgotten and gave him the accurate interpretation as received from Yahweh. Please read all of Daniel chapter 2 but let us quote the most critical part which is interpretation of the dream: 36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. 37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. 38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold. 39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. 40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. 41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. How History vindicated Daniel We need to allow Holy Spirit to leads us deeper into an understanding of the matter at hand. True to the interpretation of Daniel, here is how history unfolded since then: 1. From 606 BC, Babylon - Head of Gold - ruled the world and Israel till 539 BC, total of 67 years. Babylon was largely homogeneous, made up predominantly of Chaldeans of modern day Iraq area. Nebuchadnezzar was the leading light. 2. From 539 BC, Medo-Persia - Chest and Arms of Silver - ruled the world and Israel till 331 BC, total of 208 years. Two main people groups, the Medes and Persians of the area around modern day Iran. Its leading lights were, among others, Darius and Cyrus. 3. From 331 BC, Greco-Macedonian empire - Belly and Thighs of Bronze - ruled the world and Israel till 146 BC, a total of 185 years. It was made up of the people of Greece and Macedonia in Southern Europe. Its leading light was Alexander the Great, son of Phillip of Macedon who conquered the world up to India before he died at youthful age of 33. 4. From 146 BC, Rome - Legs of Iron which crushed out all other things before it - ruled the world and Israel till 476 AD, a total of 622 years. The first Emperor of Rome was Augustus after whom the Roman Senate named the 8th month of the year, August. As students of history know, before Augustus, Rome was a Republic ruled by a Senate or body of respected Civic rulers and Law makers acting in concert. The assassination of Julius Caesar by Brutus, Cassius and company changed all that. Believing that he needed to create a stable empire out of the ensuring chaos, Augustus turned Rome into an empire with himself not just as a Caesar but also an Emperor to whom the republic was subject. 5. The Last empire before Yeshua, Jesus returns is what has been shaping before our eyes, taking shape after World War I and II and particularly since Israel was re-established as a Sovereign nation in 1948. It is described in Daniel 2:41-45. Within the current of events and non events, this last empire before King Yeshua returns will have a number of features which the Elect Remnant may make sense out of the seeming confusion and identify: 5.1. It will be an offshoot and inheritor of the vestiges of the Old Roman Empire. To that extent it may likely have a strong European content in its foundation. 5.2. It will be a melting pot for peoples of various races, ethnic nationalities; political, economic and social persuasions. 5.3. It will experience bitter internal wrangling, pitting various factions against each other. 5.4. It will rule Israel perhaps indirectly, guaranteeing its safety. Israel will look away from Yahweh and be beholden to this empire. 5.5. More than a nation or people, it will also be an influence seeped in liberal notions of life which will have global appeal which people of various age groups, gender and religions will subscribe to. 5.6. Just as Pax Romana was a key attribute of life of those days, this empire will impose peace, stability and a preferred way of life on the nations of the earth. To that extent, this empire will have a strong military-industrial complex and armed forces able to back up the will of the empire. 5.7. To the extent of what is outlined in 5.1 - 5.6 above, many people, including Spirit-filled saints and Senior Ministers may not be able to see, hear or know what is unfolding because they will be caught up with racial, ethnic, gender and cultural mindsets that war against mind of the King and His Kingdom. Tomorrow, we get back on track with how Yeshua, Jesus lived, ministered and paid the price of redemption during the rule of Rome. We will see if He embraced the ways of the world (Rome) or was apart from it. Praise the Most High that He has a remnant!
