7 actresses to watch out for in 2015 2014 completely belonged to our heroines. Highway, Queen, Mary Kom, Mardaani and many more women-oriented films left us impressed this year. These women-centric films were not only critically acclaimed but were also accepted by the audiences, assuring good box-office numbers. No wonder our actresses don’t shy away from doing experimental roles. Let’s check out what our actresses have in their kitty for us in 2015. Priyanka Chopra PC played an undercover agent (Gunday) and a famous boxer (Mary Kom) in 2014. In 2015 as well she has varied roles lined up. Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do, which revolves around a brother-sister relationship, has Priyanka in the lead with Ranveer Singh as her brother. Zoya’s films are always interesting and this too promises to be a fresh take on sibling relations set against some breathtaking locations. Towards the end of the year, Priyanka has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastaani wherein she plays the role of Ranveer Singhs wife and the film also features Deepika Padukone. This magnum opus has been in the news for years now and PeeCee claims that it’s her most difficult role so far. In 2015, shell also be concentrating on her International album and producing her film helmed by Madhur Bhandarkar titled Madamji. Deepika Padukone 2015 might prove to be yet another 2013 for Deepika Padukone. Shoojit Sircar’s Piku which hits the screens early next year has Deepika alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan. Going by the look of the film, Piku looks quirky and interesting. Deepika will have two big releases towards the end of the year- SLB’s Bajirao Mastaani and Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha. Bajirao Mastaani will see her yet again amongst grandeur and opulence. The director is also raving about a special dance number between Deepika and Priyanka, a la Madhuri and Aishwarya from Devdas. Imtiaz Ali’s love story brings her back with Ranbir Kapoor, a jodi that the audiences simply love. Anushka Sharma Though Anushka Sharma had only one big release last year (PK), she was always in news thanks to her lips and link-up with Virat Kohli. But 2015 is surely going to be her year. We all have waited with bated breath for Bombay Velvet and 2015 will finally have this film hit the screens. Anushka Sharma who plays a jazz singer promises to be stunner in the film. She also ventures into production with her maiden project NH 10 as she brings an unusual story on screen. Zoya AKhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do will have her team with Ranveer Singh for the third time (Band Baaja Baarat and Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl). Anushka has variety of films lined up for her. She will also start working on her second production and on Karan Johar’s next film with Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Katrina Kaif Now this girl has us wanting for more. 2013 saw her in a small role in Dhoom 3 and 2014 had her in an out-and-out masala film, Bang Bang. It has been a long time Katrina has blown us over. But in the coming year she surely promises to make it up. She has Kabir Khan’s Phantom opposite Saif Ali Khan. According to sources this will be Katrina’s best. Then later Katrina and Ranbir come together for Jagga Jasoos and were sure the two wont disappoint. The actress also has Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor based on Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. We don’t think any of these films will have Katrina showing her Sheila or Chikni Chameli avatar but shes all set with powerful roles and we’re not complaining. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan we hope, we hope and we desperately hope that this wait is finally put to an end this year. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback has been much delayed. The actress has finally signed Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa. The actress shocked us after opting for an action film alongside Irrfan Khan and John Abraham. Aishwarya has also signed Karan Johar’s next directorial venture, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil opposite Ranbir Kapoor. While Karan’s film is slated for 2016, Jazbaa might hit the screens later next year. Kangana Ranaut 2014 started with a bang with Kangana’s superlative performance in Queen. Kangana Ranaut had flop films like Ungli and Revolver Rani too this year but Queen overshadowed all of them. In 2015 she has Tanu Weds Manu Returns wherein she plays a double role. The first installment, Tanu Weds Manu was a sleeper hit and the makers have promised double the fun this time around. Kangana also has Nikhil Advanis Katti Batti opposite Imran Khan and Reema Katgis next. Hail the Queen! Alia Bhatt After three back-to-back hits in 2014 (Highway, 2 States and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya) Alia Bhatt is again going to be the highlight of 2015. She has Vikas Bahls Shandaar opposite Shahid Kapoor. The young actress has also signed Ayan Mukerjis next opposite Ranbir Kapoor. According to reports she might also star in Rock On 2.
