#7 is one of my biggest frustrations as a coach, especially in high school. By the time kids are that age they should be able to handle most things on their own. Obviously, parents should be there to guide them but when Mom and Dad are constantly holding their childs hands through every TINY hiccup, the kid never learns how to be self reliant and responsible for their actions. (Steps off soap box... ha!)
