7 or perhaps more reasons to hate the generation of our parents. They are leaving behind a unquestionable mark in the world, for good and for bad. For the later, the BIG mess we are inheriting from them shines for its ruthless ethics, responsible of managing the politics, economics, media and academia right now. A generation that never really had a clear idea of the consequences of their acts. Raised in abundance after the post war rapid world wide economic growth. For many the word "crisis" was not in their dictionary. A generation that had to experience family planning, means they have 3 or more siblings while our generation experienced 1 or none. In demographic terms means a rate or 8000 grey hair flooding into retirement each year or 300 per second. A worrying cipher regarding the state of the economy they are leaving to us. It also mean more traditional values, more family based liaisons than an aperture to acquire new values, they are less interested in genuinely understanding cultural differences or diversity in all its contents. That generation that lived trapped obsessed with status, racial slur and social gapping. That generation has experienced suicide in higher rates ever in the modern world. A generation that will be remembered and hated at the same time... a lucky spoiled generation that is dying with a no so lucky fate since the "lost" generations (X, Y, millenarian or what ever you want to call us) is generally not interested in supporting the boomers... Cinema is always a good fortune teller...
