7 things you may not know about me. 1. Lots of people only know me as Black Betty. 2. I grew up on a veal farm in Maine. 3. I attended the Wilma Boyd Career School in Pittsburgh, PA in the hopes of working for an airline. I happily ended up in Minneapolis as a reservationist with National Car Rental. 4. I had my second child with a midwife at her home. 5. I cry very easily, which always freaks out my students when we read something sad and when I say goodbye to them on the last day of the semester. 6. I had to learn proper moose encounter procedure as a kindergartner in Alaska (lie in a ditch and play dead). 7. Im not old enough to be 52.
