7 years ago, the summer before college, I was given a group of 7th graders to teach. These students changed my life, gave me a passion for education, and were the impetus For my masters degree. Over the past 2 years, Ive been blessed to teach these very same students in college courses covering government, ethnic studies, and sociology. It has been a honor. They are courageous, beautiful and brilliant. Today I saw them graduate. Congrats Langston seniors. Thank you for changing my life. The world is your oyster. You dont need permission to belong. Love you guys.
