7 years ago today my life changed dramatically. I never experienced so much terror and fear in all my life and I still have vivid memories like it was yesterday. As the 2nd crash occurred and I took off running my 9 yr old, Rochelle Ham flashed before my eyes and I wondered if this was it. I started crying because there was so many things I needed to teach her; would I get the opportunity to show her how to be a woman? To see bldgs crumble and watch people jump out of windows was an experience I will never forget. It was a solemn day and it changed me forever. My spirit left NY that day and I know that my procrastination regarding moving away was over. Throughout it all God is good because as I watch my co-workers develop major respiratory issues causing them to become disabled, I know God was on my side. Even the footage of people having to walk across the Bklyn bridge I managed to escape as a co-worker offered me a ride a part of the way and by the time we crawled there, the trains had began running again. As we remember this day and as we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of another impending crisis, let us humble ourselves and pray, seek his face and TURN from our ways that do not please him.
