71. The Book of Al-A dab (Good Manners) human being or an animal eats of it, he will be rewarded as if he had given that much in charity.[8:41-O.B] 2020. To recommend to be kind to the neighbour. 2021. Narrated Aisha t␣ : The Prophet␣ ii said, Jibrael (Gabriel) continued to recommend me about treating the neighbours kindly and politely, so much so that I thought he would order me to make them as my heirs.[8:43-O.B] CHAPTER 12. The sin of that person whose neighbour does not feel safe from his evil. 2022. Narrated Abü Shuraih i;said, By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe! It was said, Who is that, o Allahs Messenger? He said, That person whose neighbour does not feel safe from his evil. [8:45- 0. B] CHAPTER 13. Whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not harm his neighbour. 2023. Narrated Abü Huraira .u␣ : Allahs Messenger␣ 4_th. _thu_La said, Whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbour, and whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should entertain his guest generously and whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet. Enjoining all that is Al-Ma râf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, and all that Islam has ordained) is considered as a Sadaqa (charitable gift). 2024. Narrated Jâbir bin Abdullâh .L #;- iii␣ : The Prophet␣ .0␣ said, Enjoining, all that is Al-Ma rz2f(i.e., Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) is a adaqa. Narrated Jâbir␣ u␣ : Never was the Prophet␣ asked for a thing to be given for which his answer was no. [8:60-O.B] 2029. Narrated Anas␣ u␣ : I served the Prophet␣ for ten years, and he never said tome, Uff (a minor harsh word denoting impatience) and never blamed me by saying, Why did you do so or why didnt you do so? [8:64-O.B] CHAPTER 19. What is forbidden as regards calling bad names and cursing. 2030. Narrated Abü Dhar &Ui␣ that he heard the Prophet ,␣ ui i, saying, If somebody accuses another of Fusüq (by calling him Fásiq i.e., a wicked person) or accuses him of Kufr (disbelief), such an accusation will revert to him (i.e., the accuser) if his companion (the accused) is innocent. [8: 7]-O.B] 2031. Narrated Thâbit bin Ad-Dahhâk _u␣ , who was one of the companions who gave the Baia (pledge) to the Prophet 71. The Book of Al-Adab (Good Manners) underneath the tree (Al-IjudaibIya): Allahs Messenger␣ , *.␣ said, Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam (i.e., if somebody swears by saying that he is a non-Muslim e.g., a Jew or a Christian, etc.) in case he is telling a lie, he is really so if his oath is false, and a person is not bound to fulfill a vow about a thing which he does not possess.[] And whoever commits suicide with anything in this world, he will be tortured with that very thing on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever curses a believer, then it (his sin) will be as if he murdered him; and whoever accuses a believer of Kufr (disbelief), then it is as if he killed him. [8: 73-O.BJ CHAPTER 20. What is disliked of NamIma (calumnies). 2032. Narrated Hudhaifa 4a␣ : I heard the Prophet␣ 4-b U␣ saying, A Qattât{21 will not enter Paradise. [8:82-O.B] CHAPTER 21. What is disliked of praising a person. 2033. Narrated Abü Bakra u␣ : A man was mentioned before the Prophet , and another man praised him greatly. The Prophet␣ 4i said, May Allahs Mercy be on you! You have cut the neck of your friend. The Prophet␣ _u␣ repeated this sentence many times and said, If it is indispensable for anyone of you to praise someone, then he should say, I [1] e.g., if somebody vows that he will manumit the slave of so-and-so if such and such thing happens, he is not bound to fulfill such a vow because he does not have the right to oblige the master of the slave to sell his slave. [2] A Qatlat is a person who conveys disagreeable, false information from one person to another with the intention of causing harm and enmity between them. (LLJl 71. The Book of Al-A dab (Good Manners) think that he is so-and-so, if he really thinks that he is such. Allah is the One Who will take his accounts (as He knows his reality) and none can sanctify anybody before Allah. [8:87-0.B] CHAPTER 22. Jealousy and mutual estrangement are forbidden. 2034. Narrated Anas bin Mâlik 4.0 , .s. Allahs Messenger ..,␣ said, Do not hate one another, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert each other, and 0, Allahs worshippers! Be brothers. Lo! It is not permissible for any Muslim to desert (not talk to) his brother (Muslim) for more than three days. [8:91-0. B] 2035. Narrated Abü Huraira i The Prophet␣ s.␣ said Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales; and do not look for the others faults and do not spy, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert (cut your relation with) one another, and do not hate one another; and 0 Allahs worshippers! Be brothers (as Allah has ordered you!) [8:90-0.B] CHAPTER 23. What sort of suspicion is allowed. 2036. Narrated Aisha␣ : The Prophet␣ s.ai i, said, I do not think that so-and-so and so-and-so know anything of our religion. And in another quotation: Know anything of our religion which we follow. [8.93-0.B] CHAPTER 24. (It is recommended) that a believer should conceal what sins he may commit. 2037. Narrated Abü Huraira •- u I heard Allahs Messenger71. The Book of Al-A dab (Good Manners)saying. All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the MujáhirIn (those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people). An example of such disclosure is that a person commits a sin at night and though Allah screens it from the public, then he comes in the morning, and says, 0 so-and-so, I did such and such (evil) deed yesterday, though he spent his night screened by his Lord (none knowing about his sin) and in the morning he removes Allahs screen from himself. [8:95-O.B] CHAPTER 25. Al-H:jra (to desert or) cut ones relation with another Muslim, i.e., not to speak to him on meeting him. The Prophet said, It is not lawful for a man to desert (not to speak to) his brother (on meeting him) for more than three days. 2038. Narrated Abü AyUb Al-Ansâri : Allahs Messenger , . ␣ 4J1 said, It is not lawful for a man to desert his brother (Muslim) for more than three nights. (It is unlawful for them that) when they meet, one of them turns his face away from the other, and the other turns his face from the former, and the better of the two will be the one who greets the other first. [8:1 OO-O.B] CHAPTER 26. The Statement of Allah jL, : 0 you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds). (V.9:119) and what is forbidden, as regards telling of lies. 2039. Narrated Abdullâh ai : The Prophet␣ said, Truthfulness leads to Al-Birr,._ (righteousness), and A1-Birr ,,.J (righteousness) leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a Siddfq 71. The Book of A I-A dab (Good Manners) (truthful person). Falsehood leads to Al-Fufuir (i.e. wickedness, evil-doing), and Al-Fujuir (wickedness) leads to the (Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah, a liar. [8:116-O.B] CHAPTER 27. To be patient when one is harmed (by others). [And the Statement of Allah␣ : Only those who are patient will receive their reward in full without reckoning!] (V.39:10) 2040. Narrated Abü Müsa s. 4u, The Prophet , .0␣ said:Noneis more patient than Allah against the harmful saying, He hears from the people, they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to Him, yet He gives them health and (supplies them with) provision. [8:121-O.B] CHAPTER 28. To be cautious from being angry. 2041. Narrated Abü Huraira 43␣ : Allahs Messenger␣ i-U -L said, The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger. [8:135-O.B] 2042. Narrated (Abü Huraira) A man said to the Prophet␣ Advise me! The Prophet ,,i., said, Do not become angry and furious. The man asked (the same) again and again, and the Prophet 43 L said in each case, Do not become angry and furious. [8:13 7-O.B] CHAPTER 29. ljayâ[] 2043. Narrated Imrân bin Husain The Prophet␣ L, said, [1] Ifayd . See the glossa 71. The Book of Al-A dab(Good Manners)␣ Hayá does not bring anything except good. [8:138-0.B] CHAPTER 30. If you do not feel ashamed (of doing something), you can do whatever you like. 2044. Narrated Abü Masüd ii The Prophet␣ ui␣ said: One of the sayings of the early Prophets which the people have got is: If you dont feel ashamed, then do whatever you like. [8:141-O.B] CHAPTER 31. To be cheerful with the people. Ibn Masüd said: Mix with the people on the condition that your religion is not injured, and joke with your family. 2045. Narrated Anas bin Mâlik The Prophet ..i.,␣ di... used to mix with us to the extent that he would say to a younger brother of mine, 0 father of Umair! What did the Nughair (a kind of bird) do? [8:150-O.B] CHAPTER 32. A believer is not to be stung twice (by something) out of one and the same hole. 2046. Narrated Abü Huraira dU The Prophet ,␣ u␣ said, A believer is not stung twice (by something) out of one and the same hole. [8: 154-O.B]
