71 years ago war came to Atka Island. The first Kiska blitz was launched from Atka harbor, the village was burned, the Atkans taken away to an internment camp and a classic WWII bomber crash landed where it still sits today. Some of these stories are told on 3 new panels prepared for Atka Island for the site of the B-24D Liberator bomber which is now part of the new WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument. Hopefully the panels will go up this summer. Many thanks to my reviewers - Atkans and my warrior group and special thanks to Alice Petrivelli. Tomorrow - Kiska and the war!
