75 YEARS AGO TODAY! On April 14th, 1939. Six days before his Major League debut, Ted Williams hit a grand-slam home-run in his FIRST at-bat as a member of the Boston Red Sox. Williams went on from there to become the greatest hitter ever. When Williams hit his round-tripper, the bases were loaded with other future Hall-of-Famers-- Jimmie Foxx, Joe Cronin and Bobby Doerr. The auspicious event came during an exhibition game against the College of Holy Cross Baseball team in... Worcester Massachusetts (Fitton Field)!
