# 78 Hey people , from all around world . I respect all nationalities . But lemme ask you one thing . Whats the biggest differences between the nationalities ....???? Thats CULTURE . So let me tell you something which i had learned from my captain ARUN MEHTA (THOME SHIP MNG.) Whats culture ? Can be defined as "the way we do things around here ." Can be futher classified into 3 things . 1. National culture 2. Occupatinal culture 3. Company culture . National culture . Its the behaviour of the people in the country you live , the behaviour , the way you react to things is your national culture . Language is very important factor over here . Occupational culture . What characterises you because of your occupation is your occupational culture . For example : when we go to some social gathering , we just see people around us and we get to know that "that person is from army " , " that guy is a doctor " etc . Depending up on how the body language , the way he speaks , the way he interacts , everything . For us (seafarer) , what characterises us is that , We are self independent , we got risky life , social cut off , living standard , respective field , etc . We got tools in our house , prefer to do all basic jobs by our own , but a doctor wont be doing that because his occupation dont teaches him to do that . Thats the difference And last , we got a Company culture . Set of beliefs , norms , regulations , procedures of the company towards the employee is the company culture . In our field , how many have seen that even we are getting offers for a higher salary but still we prefer to be on the same company because of the company culture .
